The two who spoke during the launch of the service, said the ambulances equipped with modern medical equipment would provide timely and specialized medical care to the people of Garissa.

Speaking during the event, Governor Nathif Jama noted that the robust referral services he had put in place in his first term had collapsed entirely on his departure.

He revealed that after key deliberations with senior health personnel, the decision to partner with E-Plus had been found as the most viable since their ambulances were state of the art and came with highly experienced paramedics.

E-Plus boss Susan Ng’ong’a noted that the 2013-2017 partnership between E-Plus and Garissa County had resulted in a reduction of 50 per cent in maternal mortality rates. She added that Garissa County had also developed a refferal system that was second to none in the country.

“Quality healthcare is a right to the people of Garissa and the renewal of our partnership today will go along way in ensuring no mother loses her life or baby because they could not reach a health facility,” she said.
